To upgrade the skills of local tanners and prepare them to shift in Sialkot Tannery Zone with best technical approach, assistance has been provided by UNIDO in arranging various trainings through Self-paced online courses which are made available for common user through following UNIDO’s eLearning platform
Till now 11 Rescuers from 1122 Punjab Rescue services are trained on safety from H2S and 06 were provided online training for certification. Apart from that extensive Train the Trainers Programs were conducted along with Health and Safety Departments of 17 Tanneries like M/s Leather Field, M/s Naseer Farid to name the few in which trainings on Safety from H2S gas, Safety at workplace and First Aid Trainings were imparted on UNIDO’s e-learning platform. For Tanners assistance the H2S Hazzards and Safety Training material is also made available in Urdu for tannery workers to understand it easily.
Furthermore STAGL is planning a joint training program with ILT Gujranwala which will be delivered by trained instructors to provide training on safety from H2S using UNIDO’s online learning program to their final year students. Whereas in its Summer Internship Program Lectures on H2S Hazzards and Safety Trainings were imparted to the Environmental Sciences department of Government College For Women University SIalkot with an aim to educate the apperentices and to inculcate the habit in the young minds of ensuring safety at work places along with maintaining cleaner production practices.
